In a remote southwest corner of Sweden, hidden among lush nature just a few kilometers northwest of the town of Arild is Ladonia. This micro-country (micronation) is located on a rocky beach, where you can only reach by boat or hike 30-45 minutes.
Ladonia's territory is marked by two great works of creation: Nimis and Arx - their fathers are artist Lars Vilks

. Nimis, in Latin meaning "too much", was built up of 70 tons of wood drifting in the sea, nailed to form a 9-storey tower. And Arx, "fort" in Latin, is a block of concrete and stone architecture that looks like a melting sand castle.
Nimis, one of the first two works, was born in 1980 The local government did not know about it for two years, until 1982, when the authorities announced it must be dismantled.
