Legend has it that in the past, there was a boy and a girl in love with each other. However, the girl's beauty unintentionally seduced the evil demon and he made her his wife. After trying to run away, she was hunted down by the demon. Because she did not want to be his wife, she jumped into the abyss to show her loyalty to the person she loved. Every season, Lake Sayram wears its own beauty, but June - November is the most ideal time to visit.

In July and August, the Mongols and Kazak gather in the fields to celebrate the Nadam festival. The event runs for 6 days, and includes competitions such as horse racing, wrestling and archery. Herders in the vicinity also attend the festival in traditional ethnic costumes. In addition, the event also brings together many cultural performances such as dancing, singing, dancing and a contest "chasing the girl".

Lake Sayram is one of Xinjiang's four most beautiful lakes, next to Lake Kanas, Ulungur and Bostan. Entrance fee to visit the lake is 10 CNY (35,000 VND).
To get here, visitors can travel by domestic flights, lasting 4 hours from the capital Beijing to the city of Urumqi. There are about 14 flights per day between the two cities. After arriving at Urumqi, you can take a bus from Yining Station, Jiefang Road to Sayram Lake. The trip will take about 3 hours.
Hotels around the lake cost an average of 200 CNY (700,000 VND) per person per night.
