Three sacred monasteries of the land of Buddha Ladakh
Ladakh is located in the North of India, over 4,000 meters high and has a border with Pakistan. This land has a history and culture similar to that of Tibet and also has another name as Little Tibet in India. To come to Ladakh, you will fly to the Indian capital New Delhi, then fly for about 2 hours to reach the city of Leh in Ladakh. For travel convenience, it is usually a good idea to book a package tour of a local in advance
The road to Ladakh is very dangerous and difficult, so you need to prepare a full range of medicines, especially anti-high shock medicine. The ideal time to visit is from early May to late September
Ladakh is famous for its valley area surrounded by majestic snow ranges. In addition to the breathtaking natural spectacle, this land is also very sacred to the religion of Buddhism. Therefore, temples and monasteries are very popular spiritual tourist destinations that cannot be missed when visiting Little Tibet in India.
Among them, some monasteries are open free to visitors, some require visitors to buy tickets but a maximum of only 300 rupees (about 100,000 dong). Note that when visiting the sacred areas, visitors need to keep quiet and discreetly dress, in addition, pay attention to signs that prohibit taking pictures, or need to leave slippers outside when entering.
Diskit Monastery
Diskit Monastery (also known as Deskit Gompa or Diskit Gompa) is the largest and oldest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra valley, in Ladakh. Diskit belongs to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism, was founded by Changzem Tserab Zangpo, a disciple of Tsong Khapa, the founder of the Gelugpa sect in the 14th century
