Before starting the trip, Silvia was curious about Chefchaouen, whether it was a blue mountain town or just a few alleys, painted buildings. Upon arriving here, Silvia was conquered by the unique beauty of this town.
The town of Chefchaouen was founded in 1471 in the Rif Mountains in northern Morocco by Jews and Moors on the way to escape from Spain. During her travels, Silvia heard many stories explaining the color of Chefchaouen's green color

. There is a theory that the Jews previously painted the town green to fight insects, or that this color was meant to represent the sea, heaven.
The first day Silvia visited Chefchaouen, the March rains caused the town's temperature to plummet. She and her companion had to stay in public bathrooms to keep warm On the second day, when the sun broke out and the town gradually became warm, Silvia went out and discovered the peaceful beauty of Chefchaouen.




The town is the perfect place to relax, take a walk and take pictures. However, because the location is far from major cities, prices here are quite expensive. Silvia spends most of her time exploring local restaurants and markets along the green streets.
One of the restaurants she stopped by was Chez Hicham, which had an outdoor balcony to enjoy the town's atmosphere. The dish that Silvia recommends to visitors is a goat cheese salad, mixed with walnuts, raisins and some other ingredients. According to Silvia, the dish was so delicious that she and you had to pre-order the next meal.
To reach the popular tourist destination Chefchaouen, visitors can either move or choose a day tour departing from Fes, Tangier or Rabat capital If you choose to fly to Casablanca, you can travel to Chefchaouean by CTM bus with a ticket price of 140 MAD (340,000 VND).



However, a journey of about 6.5 hours can be exhausting, and bring anti-motion sickness medicine if needed.
In Chefchaouen, there are many guesthouses and homestays of locals. At Silvia's suggestion, visitors can look to the Dar Besmellah house, which has a friendly host, the Hamid house with a beautiful balcony corner or the Ismail house located in the town center. In addition, you can also check out luxury guest houses like Dar Elrio and Riad Cherifa.
To avoid unnecessary trouble here, Silvia recommends that visitors wear discreet and polite clothes. The best color for taking good photos with green towns is neutral, as simple as white and black. However, you can also choose colorful clothes that still suit the scene such as yellow, pink, red, green and do not forget to bring your jacket during cold months.
