Unforgettable rainy days in the ancient town of Phuong Hoang
The first time coming to Phuong Hoang Co Tran (China) on the occasion of the rain in early July, Thuc Anh (Hanoi) had different experiences, feelings and perspectives on this place.
I came to Phuong Hoang on rainy days like Hanoi now. The trip lasted for nearly a week, but the travel time between cities took up half. From Hanoi to Phuong Hoang, because of the bad weather, I left from 6am but only arrived at 1am, including 7 hours in the car
The morning at Phuong Hoang was clear after the rain the night before. We walked down the road that ran along the riverbank, when the doors were not open and silence still lay on the roofs
Hong Kieu Bridge early morning.
To me, the best image of this vast country is not the magnificent nature but rather the rows of red lanterns hanging on the eaves that are still dropping raindrops on the pedestrian umbrellas. In the midst of the immense river-green town, the red lanterns stand out more against the gloomy gray sky. It is the red lights that warn the rainy season here.
In Phuong Hoang, the rocky bridge across the river is probably the most attractive place. If the photos taken by the travel bloggers here are always lonely and quiet, then by the time I arrive at noon there are many tourists passing by on the bridge. Even so, I did not pass up the opportunity to have a satisfactory photo here
Thuc Anh on the famous stone dance bridge of the ancient town.
The whole group sat down on the Da Giang river for only a short while but it was the most unique moment I felt during the trip. I used to sail on several rivers, but my feeling does not repeat the second time because each river is a story. On the boat that day there was the sound of wind passing by my ears, mixed with the song Moonlight to speak for my heart coming from someone's cell phone and watching the boat glide slowly across the river. Although the river was not quiet at all because there were a few other tourist boats, I still felt like I was alone with the blue water and the lantern hanging beside me.
The night in ancient Phuong Hoang was not as bleak as I thought. The lights stay on until late and music is on in the bars. I just walked down the street and looked up at the sides of the street. In one corner, I saw a small door leading to a white smoke bar with dim lights, making the singer stand in the smoke as if standing on a big stage.
A moment later I heard a female voice singing Lemon Tree again from some coffee shop. Forever like that until almost midnight.
In Hunan province, tourists not only stop at the ancient Phuong Hoang but also Truong Gia Gioi. However, during the rainy season, I could not feel much of the landscapes above or the glass walkways, because the pouring rain, mist obscured every angle. Standing on the glass, I see only a white mist below.
Tianmen Mountain was also hidden by the rain of early July, but when it is sunny, the scene must be very spectacular. That evening, I was compensated for watching the Tianmen Lake Fairy Show without rain. I used to see Lijiang Impression at the feet of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain a year ago with a very elaborate outdoor stage, but in terms of content, the Fairy Lake Fairy Lake is much better.
The love story between the woodcutter and the fox was reproduced on a stage built at the foot of the mountain. The characters quickly appeared in the middle of the mountains, while standing close to the audience, sometimes standing on the top of the hill in the distance. The music of the show is also the factor that makes the viewer sink deeper into the fairy world, awake while being in a dream as if they were in a dream.
I used to have prejudice about China when choosing where to travel, mostly because there is no English speaking and I do not understand Chinese. After a few trips, most recently the trip to the old phoenix, I found myself gradually changing and wanted to learn more about this country. Despite the negative impressions I have had about the country and its people, I still see China as a place of many mysteries that I need to explore.
