There are currently 4 diving sites in the abandoned Kobanya mines. Only one site called the Park Khut (Well Park) is the most accessible to divers with a basic diving license. “It is because the basements and steps in the Park Khut are open, so the air in, makes it airy below, and it is also a safe place. The other spots are closed and only accessible if you are a veteran diver and have a more advanced certification. The water temperature here is usually kept at 12 degrees Celsius. In Park Khut, divers can dive 17 meters above the water surface (ie 47 meters deeper than the road surface). It takes 40 minutes to explore the mines in the mine while the machinery is still available.

According to Bolgar, the last time limestone was mined in Budapest was in the late 1890s. At that time, brewers and brewers used some of the mines to distill and ferment raw materials. The tunnels currently used as diving grounds have also been dug further by winemakers to create wells for clean water. Nowadays, the mine that is not flooded is open freely to visitors several times a year, sometimes it is also the venue for racing competitions.
According to Zita Szederkenyi, head of the Dreher Brewery brewery association, historians estimate that one million cubic meters of limestone was extracted from the Kobanya quarry. Although the quarry is a mysterious place, people still witness it every day because countless buildings have been built thanks to the limestone that is mined from the ground. The total area of the quarry is still not accurate data.



The cellar system is not only located under the brewery area but also extends to many sides of Kobanya district.
After diving in one of the winery's old cellar corridors, Domjan says he saw a rock dug out by miners more than a century ago but never cut to make bricks. . It reminded him of how this underground world was formed. "I feel fortunate that during the day I can see the impressive Budapest buildings and the night falls again where I find the materials to build those great works," Domjan shared.
