Mtskheta – Georgia’s Oldest Historic City

The ancient city Mtskheta is one of the oldest ancient cities in Georgia. The city is located at the confluence of two rivers Aragvi and Mt’k’vari, about 20 km northeast of Tbilisi. The city is located in the Kartli province of eastern Georgia. Currently the city of about 8,000 people is the administrative center of the Mtskheta-Mtinaneti region.
