I travel to Lijiang (China) on a July day, in the middle of summer, but the weather here is cool, even chilly when night falls. Although at that time the ticket price was high, the old town was not yellowed by the autumn leaves, I still decided to make my dream come here. Lijiang Ancient City was a big city with old town and new town, but I only focused on exploring the old town because of the limited time, three days. On the first day in Lijiang, my companion and I got up early to take pictures to avoid crowding

. The shops were not open yet and the air was clear after the rain the night before. From the balustrades of floating houses in the middle of the canal, flowers of all colors bloom in the summer weather.
The first day we were just for going around the old town The two sides of the paved road are colorful shops selling local souvenirs, from dresses and drums to hundreds of other pretty things that you will hardly miss.




When walking through the drum shops I always hear the melody of the song Xiao Bao Bei (小 宝贝) featured with this drum beat.
At the main gate of Lijiang Old Town is a large water wheel and a wind chime hanging area. Thousands of wind chimes attached to wooden signboards of wishes hang a wooden suspension in the corner of the square.
Food in Lijiang is quite plentiful. One of the popular dishes here is "vermicelli across the bridge". This is not a specialty of Lijiang origin but has been considered a common delicacy of the whole Yunnan province. Legend has it that because he loved his husband studying for exams in the hut on the other side of the bridge, he was hungry until midnight, and the wife came up with a way to cook chicken broth and leave noodles and other side dishes Until she crossed the bridge, she put the noodles and food in the broth.



Thanks to the layer of chicken fat scum on the top of the broth bowl, the dish stays hot even if taken long distances.
Also we tried many other foods in the old town. Each small restaurant or cafe is a private discovery of this place.
On the second day, we bought a joint tour of the hotel to Ngoc Long Tuyet Son, 30 km from the city center. Our car has 7 people in total, plus a driver cum guide. Arriving at the foot of the mountain, the car stopped for everyone to take pictures of the mountain from afar.
After entering the gate, the car took everyone to Lam Nguyet valley in the mountain complex. I was fortunate to choose the right sunny day to come here, when the water of the four lakes in the valley was emerald green.




After having lunch with chicken hotpot and white rice, we waited to see the show "Impressive Lijiang" by director Truong Nghe Muu. I knew this show before I left and was determined to watch it.
However, "Lijiang's Impression" is not as impressive as I thought it would be. The stage is circled quite imposingly, recreating the lives of the tribes living in this area. But because of that, the bustling atmosphere at noon, with no wind in, made it even more hot. The actors are ethnic, their lines are all Chinese so I wasn't completely satisfied after watching.
Leaving the stage, we took the cable car to the area near the top of the mountain. Each person was given a large coat and an oxygen tank in case the air was thin and difficult to breathe.



In the last stage, we continued to climb to the top of the mountain. The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a snowy mountain at 5,596 m high. If you come here in winter, the scene will be much more majestic with snow covering the ground. I am also temporarily content because even if I do not see snow, I can see this mountain with my own eyes. The last day, we kept our strength before going home, so we just went to buy souvenirs and went to Heilong Dam park north of the ancient citadel. In the park, there are Ngu Phung Lau and Hac Long lake raising many carp. The trip is short and many places have yet to be reached, but for me, those three days are enough to give a good impression of the ancient cities scattered in China.
