Therefore, after reading the information that Lugu Lake is home to Mosuo people, I decided to come here From Lijiang, I chose to buy a round trip bus route to Lugu Lake for 2 days from Jiantu.



With the price of 99 yuan (325,000 VND), the bus will be picked up at the North gate of Dai Nghien ancient town. At first, I thought that the 180 km distance from Lijiang to Lugu Lake was enough to go and return during the day, but later I knew that although the distance was not far, it was difficult to go and dangerous due to the winding mountainous terrain. it is easy to have a rock falling from the mountain. I understand why people call Lake Lugu the pearl of the plateau I understand that I have chosen the right destination for my travel itinerary in Yunnan.



The hotels around Lugu Lake are mainly concentrated in the West including three villages: Lac Thuy village (or Dai Lac Thuy), Tam Gia village and the Quarantine peninsula. I chose a hotel in Lac Thuy village, because this village is a bus stop which is convenient for traffic and busier than most.In Lac Thuy village there are many food services, you can also choose rent a bicycle, take a boat or rent a car to visit around the lake. When I arrived in Lugu in the afternoon, I chose to take a boat to the island, the ticket price was 50 yuan / person (165,000 VND). The boatman told us that our ethnic people (Mosuo) are also Buddhist and told us to visit the temple on the island to note not to wear hats, short skirts, not to take pictures inside the temple. Leaving the island, that afternoon I wandered around the lake for a photo shoot and was lucky to meet Susan, both of us were alone here. The next morning, Susan and I met to go to the boat station to take photos of the sunrise. The people on the island told me the sunrise time was 6:40. Indeed, I stepped out of the hotel at 6:30 am, on the way to the dock, I was in time to take a photo of the slowly rising sun. It is said that you do not need to be a photographer to go to Lugu Lake, just take a photo at your own pace to bring a picture home. The journey to and from nearly 40 km is quite difficult because there are many steep passes, but there are beautiful scenes, I stop to watch and keep in memory.



It seems that every visitor to Lugu Lake must stop. at the Tung Kiss Bridge. This bridge is inherently special because according to Mosuo customs, if boys and girls fall in love, they only need to hold hands to go through this bridge, they will be able to stay together until the end of the tooth. "Men don't get married, girls don't get married". They live on a matriarchal system, men and women are not married, or more precisely, their "marriage" has no economic ties or legal regulations. If a man and a woman love each other and want to be together for a long time, then they just have to hold hands to go to the end of the Bridge of the Kiss, this is considered a ceremony of engagement between them. will differentiate to call each other "A Chu" and "A Ha". The Mosuo used to call this rite "Ah Ha kiss".



In fact, after “A Ha kiss” is done, men and women still do not live in the same house. Every night the man goes to the woman's house, but when morning comes he returns to his home, the children born will be with the mother, taking the mother's surname, This non-binding relationship any it is always possible to stop, if the woman does not see fit. In China, the Mosuo are the only people who still maintain a matriarchal system. I don't know if the author Ngo Thua An was adapted from Mosuo customs to adapt to Nu Nhi Quoc in the work of Tay Du Ky, but on the streets of Lac Thuy village I saw it. a lot of signs of hotels, restaurants, shops ... named "Nu Nhi Quoc".
