The owner, Mr. Chen Xiaoguai, 28 years old was an engineer and suffered from severe depression. He was inspired to open the bar after spending a month in the hospital. He received special care from psychologists and medical professionals, but after being discharged from the hospital, the young man no longer felt supported

The bar is also a cafe and bookstore, with psychological books, autobiographies and novels about dark details in human life.
Since opening its doors in February 2019, Chen said people often come here to cry, talk, or just sit and read. In Taiwan, mental health issues are overlooked and even stigmatized.
“Before, they could probably only talk to family and friends. These people don't really understand them, especially the parents, the old generation, who don't understand mental health issues, ”Chen said of special clients.



Older generations often propose a solution by talking to a monk at the temple, or by superstition.
