During his trip to Bhutan at the end of 2017, Le Phong Nguyen had 9 days traveling around the "Kingdom of Thunder Dragon" from East to West
I took a flight from Bangkok to Bhutan in a state of excitement, with countless imaginations in my mind about a strange land.
Paro Airport is famous for its ruggedness. A small runway in the middle of the high mountains greets me on a beautiful autumn morning with blue skies
The driver recognized me as Vietnamese, waved goodbye with a big smile.
The atmosphere here has something very special, faintly fragrant with the scent of the earth, the grass and trees, the sound of the stream gushing along the road and the sound of the wind.
From the capital Thimphu to the holy place of Buddhism Bumthang
In Bhutan, prayer flags are hanging everywhere, fluttering on the walls, on rooftops and on hill tops. Peace is what you can feel fastest and most obvious when you arrive here.
I moved to the capital Thimphu, more than 50 km east of Paro airport. Newcomers to Bhutan are extremely excited by the traffic warning signs along the two sides of the road, written in English with very cute messages such as: “Don't hurry be cool since heaven is already full ”Or“ Live for your today, drive for your tomorrow ”.
Being the largest city in Bhutan but the capital Thimphu has only about 100,000 inhabitants. Without using traffic lights, the city consists of only a few main roads, quiet with cars running slowly on the road
My journey stretches from West to East, starting from the capital Thimphu with the famous monastery of Taktsang Palphug (also known as Tiger's Nest).
The next destination was the ancient capital Punakha with Punakha fortress, where the first king of Bhutan Ugyen Wangchuck ascended the throne in 1907.
Leaving Punakha, I continued to move east to Trongsa, where the Trongsa Dzong fortress was built in 1647 by Shabdrung. This is also where the leaders of Bhutan fought against British invasions in the nineteenth century.
The final point of the journey is the Bumthang region, where there are four of the most beautiful valleys in Bhutan (including Chumey, Choekhor, Tang and Ura valleys). This is also one of the Buddhist holy places of this country.
What's in the happiest country in the world?
Most of Bhutan's area is mountainous, so traffic between regions is very difficult. It receives special support from India in most fields, especially in building infrastructure.
Traveling to Bhutan, you can find many Indian workers building houses, hospitals, schools, roads or bridges.
The wooden roofed houses or small monasteries lying along the hills and mountainside are the images that tourists often meet on both sides of the road.
The people in Bhutan are mainly engaged in agriculture, with a few engaged in handicrafts. Bhutan's agriculture is mainly grown rice and potatoes, much of which is technically outdated and quite primitive.
One of the interesting things about Bhutan is its cuisine. Chili is considered a traditional condiment and is present in most dishes here. Along with chili are milk tea and cheese, these are also two popular foods, consumed by the majority of Bhutanese daily.
In Bhutan, the slaughter of animals is considered wrong and taboo, so most foods such as fish and meat are imported from India.
"Life in Bhutan is more than enough"
During the trip, apart from natural beauty or architectural wonders, what impressed me most was still the image of Bhutanese people.
Bhutanese people are gentle and very likable. From children running and jumping on the way to farmers in the fields of potatoes, or old grandparents going to Mass in ancient temples, with clear eyes, a smile always on their lips, face with tanned skin. The sunshine of the Himalayas exudes the tranquility of the high mountain life.
Bhutan's education also contributes to building up the character of the people here. In schools, children are under no pressure to be good students at all, but more importantly, to be a good citizen.
Most Bhutanese people believe in Buddhism from a very young age. Their life is simple so their life needs are also very simple and not too demanding.
During a talk with her guide, I asked her if she had gone abroad and if she was satisfied with her life now.
She answered that she has never been abroad, although she still talks to many foreigners every day and hears many interesting things in the outside world.
But in truth, she seldom had the thought of wanting. . Dịch vụ: Thiết kế website, quảng cáo google, đăng ký website bộ công thương uy tín
