Located between Barden Tower and Bolton Monastery (Yorkshire, England) is one of nature's most dangerous pitfalls: Bolton Strid (Strid). This is a small stream, about 1.8m wide, picturesque. However, hiding under the seemingly harmless peaceful water surface are strong underground currents that make it difficult for anyone to be sucked down to survive

.
Although there is no official death toll in Strid, but its "scandal" not only spread in the region, but also the UK.
So why can a small stream become the most dangerous waters in the world? In less than 100 meters, this small stream will join the Wharfe River in the north, flowing through Yorkshire. Upon reaching the Bolton monastery area, the water was forced to flow through a narrow and deep ravine, causing the stream to have a great speed
Beneath it is a network of caves and tunnels that hold all of the rest of the river water.

The narrow distance between the two banks of Bolton Strid causes many strangers from afar to hallucinate, thinking that the two banks are very close together and can jump easily. Many people even intend to wade through this stream because they think that the water here is very shallow, just to the knees. However, that was just a trap and many people were easily caught. And death immediately rushed to greet them as soon as someone fell into the water

In 1998, Barry and Lynn Collett, the honeymoon couple, visited the site and is believed to have drowned in Bolton Strid.

This once again became a topic of discussion and concern throughout the UK. However, Strid's reputation has been known by many people since the 1800s. It was mentioned by writer Gertrude Atherton in many of his short story works. In the 12th century, Strid was compared to the dangers of another river in Yorkshire, the Aire River: "If Aire kills a man, then Wharfe kills five times more."

Its most recent victim was in March 2010, 8-year-old Aaron Page, who slipped and drowned on his birthday, while playing in the area. Some time later, the police were sent to the Wharfe River near the monastery to keep an eye on the residents. At that stretch of river, the authorities have put up warning signs, prohibiting people from bathing or diving because of danger.
In 2016, Bolton Strid once again attracted the attention of tourists around the world, when British YouTuber Tom Scott introduced it in his video titled: The most dangerous waters in the world. Scott also says there are many other deadly waters around the world, but Strid's easy-to-deceive appearance makes it incredibly dangerous. “In general, you can come here and see a small, seemingly harmless stream of water in the middle of the forest. You can jump over it, some people succeed.
