Tam Bui's trip was inspired by the famous book "The Alchemist"
Sharing about his trip, Tam Bui said: “Egypt is my childhood dream from fairy tales, especially movies about pyramids and pharaohs. In my imagination, Egypt is tinged with mysterious colors with many ancient tombs, a long-standing civilization that always arouses in itself a desire to once set foot. Recently, I read again the famous novel "Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho about his journey to Egypt to find treasure from a young man named Santiago Extremely sympathetic to the young man's story, we and the group of friends decided to follow in the footsteps of Santiago to find "treasure" for ourselves.




Before leaving, it took 8X photographer about 4 months to prepare the trip plans. He consulted many information on Lonely Planet and that of his friends living in Egypt. Tam Bui's journey lasted for 3 weeks along the length of the Nile, costing each person about 40 million.
He said: “Eating, staying and traveling in Egypt is very cheap, much cheaper than Vietnam. Gasoline price in Cairo is 5 Egypt Pounds (Egyptian currency) / liter, equivalent to 6500 VND. Since then, the cost of food and the cost of living is also lower ”.

The 8X photographer remembers the most during this trip when the group at the Siwa oasis, a mosque on the Sinai peninsula was bombed, killing 200 people At this point, all communications were cut off.



Tam Bui's group had to take refuge at a hotel and quickly returned to Cairo when the situation became more stable.
Although it takes a lot of time to adapt to the dry, hot Egyptian weather and get used to the country's rather difficult to eat cuisine, Tam Bui still affirms that Egypt is definitely a country worth experiencing and exploring. . “Egyptian monuments and landscapes are so beautiful and more magnificent when viewed from the outside.
