After 9 years of construction with a cost of 20 billion USD, the longest bridge over the sea Hong Kong - Zhuhai - Macau in the world is finally officially put into use.
The 55km bridge over the sea recently inaugurated by China includes 12km of bridge in Hong Kong, 29.6km of main bridge and 13.4km of bridge in Zhuhai
The bridge over the sea was built not to set a record, but to make traffic faster and more convenient. Traffic can now take only 45 minutes across the sea to travel from Hong Kong to Zhuhai.

Although Hong Kong and Macau are both part of China, the two cities still have separate legal systems. This means travelers will have to check-in at both ends of the itinerary and bring valid identification.
Visitors can also rent a car or buy a bus ticket that runs through 3 cities on this bridge. One Bus Hong Kong Macau Ltd bus runs 19 round trips per day from Kwun Tong, east of Kowloon, Hong Kong to several Macau hotels. Each trip takes less than 2 hours.
Trans Island Limited also runs 400 trips per day across 3 cities. The company said the journey from Tsim Sha Tsui, a shopping district in Kowloon, Hong Kong to Zhuhai, only takes 75 minutes
If you rent a car, be aware that the bridge crosses mainland China, so vehicles will run on the right side when traveling here, and on the left side for Hong Kong and Macau bridges.
