Kolmanskop is an old German mining site located in Namibia. The town has been abandoned since the 1950s, the desert has invaded the town creating an interesting combination of colorful painted walls and sand that spans the entire room.

Quiver forest is about 14km northeast of Keetmanshoop town Quiver tree belongs to the Aloe family, although living in the dry desert, this unique plant can be 7-9m tall.



Currently, QUIVER's forest has about 250 trees, most of them have lifespan from 200 to 300 years.

Namib-Naukluft National Park preserves part of the vast Namib Desert. The most famous area of the park is called Sossusvlei, home to the highest sand dunes in the world. Oxidizing iron in the sand produces a characteristic red-orange and red-orange color that is vibrant and contrasts most strongly at sunset.
Sossusvlei is also known as Deadvlei, meaning swamps die of dead trees, dark and indecisive due to the extreme climate.
This dead swamp area used to be a wet and tree-lined land, but 700 years before being invaded by the desert the trees dried up and became arrogant skeletons in the sky.
