in summer. Currently only a few high-end guests like US President Donald Trump can admire this landscape at night (2017).Completed in 1420, the Forbidden City was the residence of kings and the political center of China for 500 years. In the past, the lantern festival here was held for royal families. But this traditional event was canceled to preserve the ancient structure and prevent fire concerns. Later, event organizers used LED lights to replace traditional lanterns and red candles during the annual festival.
