The Reason That Every Visitor Has To Pay 250 Usd A Day To Bhutan
When overcrowding occurred, governments began to tax and restrict visitors - a move that Bhutan pioneered many years ago.
The reason that every visitor has to pay 250 USD a day when traveling to Bhutan
Tourism development is a balance between benefits and costs. While tourism can boost the economies of many countries, the industry can also have adverse effects.
Crowded sights are no longer a new image. Overcrowding occurred in famous destinations in the world such as Versailles palace in France, Trevi fountain in Rome (Italy), Buckingham palace in England, Forbidden City in China, Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia
Bhutan does not seem to be chasing impressive numbers of tourism development.
This kingdom in the Himalayas welcomed only 254,000 visitors in 2017 - a modest number among hundreds of millions of tourists flocking to countries around the world. This means that Bhutan's destinations are rarely crowded. Typically, Paro Taktsang monastery is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Bhutan, but never in line with tourists to visit.

Bhutan is one of the pioneers in mass tourism management, with sure steps to avoid overgrowth that many countries have no solution yet.
This kingdom requires all visitors to pay 250 USD per day
Many people do not want to learn more about the Bhutanese tour when they know this fee, but ignore detailed benefits.
With 250 USD a day, guests will stay at a hotel with minimum 3 star standard with three meals; a licensed Bhutanese guide to assist during the vacation; cover all travel expenses and admission tickets to all attractions; have tools to set up tents and go in groups if participating in trekking tour.

In addition, the government of Bhutan will deduct US $ 65 from visitor revenues to allocate for environmental conservation, infrastructure development, education and free health services for the entire population.
As such, visitors will not have to spend any extra, unless they have the need to shop, eat or tip for their guide and driver.
According to conservation and ecotourism expert Karma Tshering, Bhutan's conservative tourism policy proved to be effective as a shield protecting the kingdom from adverse effects. However, Mr.
Karma is concerned that the increase in visitors is a threat to the country's sustainable tourism industry.
This expert said, Bhutan is standing in the middle of a crossroad and must consider other policies.
"Bhutan has all the possibilities and opportunities to maintain its position as a leading sustainable tourism development destination in the world, but welcoming more visitors may lead to mass tourism development" Mr. Karma explained.
