Things gradually became clearer by the end of 2013. Two researchers Jim and Richard Norris visited the lake bed area in the Dead valley.



They found that the movement of the rocks required a combination of different conditions.
First, the valley surface must be covered with a layer of water deep enough to form floating ice. When the temperature is low, the lake will freeze a thin layer of ice, underneath is still water. The ice will then thicken enough to stiffen and force the rock to push. When the temperature is high, the sun will crack the ice into patches. These ice will be pushed away by the winds, pushing the rocks along.
However, researchers have only observed these phenomena in a few rocks, and for large rocks, they still need more research to find out its displacement.
In 1849, a group of people fetching gold by trying to find a shortcut accidentally entered this valley.



They were disoriented, spent other hungry days, burned by the sun and attacked by insects, snakes, and scorpions. Many people have buried their bodies in this harsh place. By January 1850, a single member of the crew was able to escape.
In 1941, an American investigation team lost its way and was lost here and no one returned.
In 1949, another expedition entered the valley again. A few people escaped from this place, but later died confusing. Therefore, this valley is called Death valley.
Although the conditions in the valley's heart were harsh, the landscape around it was in contrast.



The western side of the valley is the foot of the Nevada range. The contiguous area has many vertical and horizontal ravines, stone pillars. Under the sunlight, the scenery was depicted as brilliantly beautiful. Therefore, this place attracts a lot of tourists to visit. In 1933, the United States turned this place into a national park, and was always crowded with visitors to winter holidays.
