Trolltunga is one of the most impressive cliffs in Norway, reaching 700m above Lake Ringedalsvatnet. This place attracts mountaineers from all over the world to conquer.

Mr. Chieu (Ho Chi Minh City) completed a 28km trip up Trolltunga (also known as Devil's Tongue) in Norway in May. She said this road is not too difficult for her because she has experience 3 Day 2 nights, 30km in Phong Nha national forest, Quang Binh to explore Hang Tien

But with this experience, Anh Chieu needs to complete in up to 12 hours, without a guide. This is also her first time walking in the snowy mountains.
From the end of May, in Odda (Hordaland county, Norway) the snow has melted and the sun sets at 10 p m.



, so visitors can climb Trolltunga freely without hiring a guide. Mr. Chieu started climbing from 7am and planned to go down the mountain at 19h at the latest.

The first four kilometers are a paved mountain road for the jeep to run, without any significant obstacles, but the high, winding mountain road makes climbers feel that each step is heavy and tired.
The next two kilometers, visitors begin to enter the foothills of Trolltunga, walk on gravel, rock, cross small streams… This is a gentle warm-up.

Mr Chieu shared that Norwegians loved climbing activities, exercising health and encouraged people to climb mountains, so the road had to prepare many signs to guide the way.



When each kilometer is completed, a sign will tell you how many miles are left to go.
At km 7, climbers will see a warning sign should return if it is past 13 o'clock, between early August and early June (the time of the early sun down, the dark quickly becomes dangerous if trying climb up).

The next 8 kilometers of the journey is the most challenging part. Imagine having to climb a towering rocky mountain, you have to be careful with each step, then to a snowy mountain full of shoes, each step requires a lot of strength, the wind blows cold. hands and feet.




It seems that you have to use all your strength to climb, it feels like time has passed a long time and is almost there, but when you see the sign, you only know that you have only climbed 1km, 7km left like that. It's really a test of patience and endurance and having to calmly adjust your mind to go through the long road ahead.
Conquering "Devil's Tongue" Trolltunga seems to be in the "wish list" of many young people around the world, so the road is always bustling in its own way. Not as crowded as the festival, but for every 1km you will receive 4-5 lovely greetings from strange companions from France, Italy, England, and Canada ...

Free climbing so everyone climbs on their own accord, no one waits for anyone and makes appointments at certain points. So there are sections where you will see only yourself with the road, surrounded by white snow, seeing no symbols but footprints, when in the middle of the valley, surrounded by white mountains .

When you are alone with the path you take, you will feel very clear when conquering the journey by yourself, no matter how difficult it is.
“The last stage is getting harder and harder, the snow is thicker and the mountains are higher. My legs are tired and the sun shines directly on my face, the feeling of being hot and cold makes me feel that the last kilometers are as long as the century ”, said Anh Chieu.

And finally arrived. On the top of the mountain, the wind blows, surrounded by snowy mountains reaching the clouds and the sky, below is the surface of a beautiful blue lake like a fairyland, everyone sits for lunch, watching the rocky cliff stretching out in the air I call it "Devil's Tongue" Trolltunga.
People lined up in order to pose and angle each other for the most impressive photos, worthwhile climbing the snow pass.



This is a peaceful, sweet moment before thinking about 14km of the way back.
How difficult it is to go up is like that. Snow mountains are more dangerous than climbing, because ice is slippery.
Mr. Chieu said that it took 5 hours 40 minutes to climb, 35 minutes for lunch break, 5 hours to climb down. She completed the journey in 11 hours and 15 minutes compared with the original 12-hour target, stopping at many photo spots, while her friend took less than 10 hours to complete this stage.
