According to the Travel section of National Geographic magazine, the Tiwi Islands are located at the meeting point between the warm waters of Timor and Arafura, off the coast of Northern Territory (Northern Territory).
The Tiwi archipelago consists of 11 large and small islands covering an area of nearly 7,800 km² with a unique ecosystem, including mangrove forests, eucalyptus forests and pristine white sand beaches.
According to Lonely Planet, the main settlements on the Tiwi archipelago are Wurrumiyanga in southeast Bathurst and the Pirlangimpi, Milikapiti area on Melville Island.

Tourism in the Tiwi Islands is limited to visitors

. From the Northern Territory city of Darwin, you can take flights to these islands in as little as 30 minutes. In addition, there is a ferry service that travels between Darwin - Bathurst about three times a week.
Due to its wild nature, if visiting the Tiwi archipelago, visitors must be equipped with skills "dust travel" and fully prepare the necessary tools for the trip

Coming to the Tiwi Islands, visitors also participate in other activities such as fishing, Australian football (footy) and learn about the unique handicraft village with batik fabrics, silk, knitting rings, seashells with high quality drawings, wood sculptures and ceramics.

In addition to its natural beauty, Tiwi Island also has a rich biodiversity as it is home to 56 species of birds, crocodiles, dolphins, sea turtles and dugongs.
The Tiwis, mainly indigenous people living in isolation on this island for thousands of years, have "nurtured" their distinct culture and language passed down through generations.
Perhaps most unique in traditional Tiwi culture are colorful wooden columns (called pukumani) drawn from natural dyes for decorative use in cemetery funeral rites.
Activities such as dancing and music and performing arts are performed by the Tiwi Aboriginal people at the burial site to help the soul of the deceased (called mobiditi) be at peace.
