On October 27, 2011, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1920 / QD-TTg approving the National Strategy on malaria parasite control and elimination in Vietnam in the 2011-2020 period and orientations. by 2030. Accordingly, malaria prevention and elimination in Vietnam for the period of 2011-2020 has the following goals:
General objective
To control the rate of people having malaria below 0.15 / 1,000: the rate of people dying from malaria shall be under 0

.02 / 100,000; no provinces remain active in the prevention of malaria; 40 provinces returned to the stage of preventing malaria; 15 provinces in the phase of eliminating malaria and 8 provinces in the phase of eliminating malaria by 2020.
Detail goal
Ensure malaria sufferers and people at risk of malaria have access to early diagnosis services and timely treatment.
Ensuring the implementation of effective and effective measures to prevent and combat malaria for people living in areas at risk of malaria

Eliminate malaria in provinces with mild malaria prevalence, reducing malaria prevalence in provinces where malaria is highly and moderately endemic;
Improve the capacity of the malaria surveillance system, ensure adequate malaria prevention and control;
Promote scientific research and apply the results of scientific research to malaria prevention, control and elimination
Raising people's awareness about malaria prevention and control so that people can actively prevent and fight malaria with the highest efficiency.
