When Not Vaccinated For Children
To prevent 6 diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, measles, polio and tuberculosis, children need to be vaccinated but parents must know the health of the child. However, few people are interested in banning immunization when children are unwell below.
Lao
The prevention of tuberculosis in newborns is done by vaccinating with BCG within the first week after birth. The drug is injected in the skin. After injection, there may be a rash, slight swelling, or ulceration at the injection site
Do not give injection to children with purulent dermatitis, fever above 37.5 degrees Celsius, diarrhea, malnutrition, ENT diseases, pneumonia, jaundice, .
and especially children with HIV. The BCG injection is effective for a long time, but not for people who have had tuberculosis.
Diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough
The vaccination for diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis is done at the same time when the child is 2 months old. The vaccine is mixed together, abbreviated DTP (in English) or DTC (in French) and injected into a child's muscles.
According to the vaccination schedule, children receive 8 doses at least 30 days apart. The first dose when the child is 2 months old. The third dose is before 12 months of age
The drug has a protective effect for many years after the full dose has been injected. At the injection site, there may be a rash, minor swelling, causing fever 38-39oC.
In the case of children with bacterial infections, high fever, neurological disorders ... should not be vaccinated.
Disabled
Children will be vaccinated against polio at the same time as diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis vaccinations with an oral vaccine (Sabin vaccine): three times at 2 months, 3 months and 4 months. Children will be protected for 10 years.
After taking the vaccine, children may have headaches, muscle aches or diarrhea and very rarely have acute paralysis (1/5 million cases).
Absolutely do not give Sabin to prevent polio during children with fever, vomiting, diarrhea, being treated with corticosteroids, malignant disease (lymphoma, leukemia ...) or infected with HIV. Do not give children Sabin at the same time as typhoid vaccine.
In some cases, children do not drink, should use the vaccine injection (vaccine Salk).
Measles
Babies are immunized against measles when they are more than 9 months old.
The drug is injected under the skin and has a protective effect for many years. After injection, there may be reactions at the injection site: redness, blisters. Children may also have fever, cough, runny nose and headache. The measles vaccine is given once. When children with high fever, immunodeficiency are infected with HIV, measles vaccine should be postponed.
Hepatitis B
Since 1995, the prevention of hepatitis B (VGSVB) has not been included in the Extended Immunization Program. Accordingly, all children are given three injections:
1st tip: 0-2 months old
The second nose: after the first one - 4 months.
The third nose: after nose 2 from 6 to 18 months.
Most vaccines against VGSVB are very safe. A small number of cases may have a slight fever, injection site pain, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue, muscle aches after injection.
For babies born underweight (less than 1.5kg) can wait until they are 2kg or from 2 months old to start vaccinating VGSVB.
Japanese encephalitis
To prevent Japanese encephalitis, children also need 3 injections under the skin:
First injection: When younger than 1 year old.
Second injection: Administer 1-2 weeks after the first dose.
Third nose: After the second one 1 year.
After injection, the site may be red, swollen.
Sometimes children have chills, headache, fever after injection.
Japanese encephalitis vaccine is not given to children with high fever, heart disease, kidney, liver, diabetes or malnutrition, are suffering from leukemia and especially children who have had any allergic reaction to the vaccine. VNNB.
Other diseases
In Vietnam, vaccination against cholera and typhoid has been mentioned, and depending on the epidemiological situation of each locality, whether these diseases are considered to be included or not included in the Expanded Immunization Program.
In addition to the aforementioned 8 diseases in this program, a number of other diseases have long been vaccinated, such as rabies, chicken pox, meningitis, mumps, influenza, etc. are also interested.
However, many scientists have suggested that (so far not unified) should not vaccinate too many vaccines for children, preventing causing "overload" for the body's immune system..
